100 percent of your child sponsorship money goes directly to the school that your child attends. Beyond the Horizon does not keep any of the sponsor pledged monies to cover our overhead costs.
All of our overhead costs and money for special needs are raised one of two ways:
- The first is through separate donations given for the sole purpose of covering overhead costs or Special Needs. Click here to Help Now.
 The second is through the sale of merchandise made at “Connexions,“ one of the job training missions of Emmanuel Ministries in India. The products are purchased by Beyond the Horizon through fair trade, which supports the “Connexions” mission, and are sold to cover child sponsorship overhead costs.

Connexions is a project where young women from the slums receive training and job opportunities. As well as being trained in tailoring and paper crafts, the women are taught English, business skills, and values for life.
 The women, while being paid for their craft work, are increasingly self sufficient. Their self esteem and dignity are built up and they are empowered to improve the quality of their lives.
This product represents the restoration of one woman’s life. By purchasing this product, you are becoming part of her success story!BTH currently carries two different types of Connexions products. The first is the Straw Card Products. The Second is the Sari Blankets, Scarves, and Bags.
STRAW CARDS PRODUCTS
 These Note Cards are all blank on the inside and are made in two different styles, Christmas and Everyday.
There are two different techniques for making these note cards, both of which involve flattened rice straw.

They take the flattened straw, cut it
with a razor blade and glue it piece
by piece onto the velvet paper.

They draw the scene on a piece of
paper, glue the straw on the backside
of it and cut the shape out with scissors.
Then the cut pieces are glued onto the
velvet paper.

SARI BLANKET, SCARF & BAG PRODUCTS
The sari is the traditional dress and symbol of womanhood in India. These unique items are made from layers of recycled, cotton saris that are hand-quilted together to create an authentic vintage style.
